Mozambique Mission

|
The Mozambique Mission is a partnership mission with the Liberdade Church in Mozambique, Africa.
Our partner church has been under construction for eight years due to minimal resources, money and materials. The Liberdade congregation's greatest desire is to complete their Church as a testimony to God's love. The Church also has a commitment to AIDs education. These two top priorities are also important to the KUMC Mission Team work. It is our desire to continue to partner with the Liberdade people and share in their hopes for a better life and faith in God.
More Information About Mozambique:
In 1997 Mozambique topped the list of the countries classified as part of the 'extreme human suffering' category of the "International Human Suffering Index" released by the Population Crisis Committee in Washington D.C.
The Human Poverty Indicator (HPI) compares indicators such as the percentage of individuals with a life expectancy of less than forty years, percentage of children of insufficient body weight, adult literacy, and access to health care and drinking water.
In Mozambique ten percent of infants die of malaria and one of four children dies before the age of five due to infectious disease.
How We Can Help
Most of KUMC's support of the Liberdade Church in Mozambique takes the form of fundraising. We have an annual commitment to pay the pastor's salary, and we send additional funds to help complete the church.
