KUMC Missions

The Church has left the building
“Go and make disciples of all nations.”  – Matthew 28:19

We believe church isn’t over when you leave a worship service.
with others both inside and outside of the church building as we
GROW in our faith and SERVE God and others with love though mission and ministry.
Please join us as we leave the building and serve together!
Mission Focus for April 2018 is:
April Showers
Our mission this month is to provide plastic shower curtains, shower hooks and shower curtain rods to supply families in need served through Home Sweet Home. Please select a droplet from the hall poster as a reminder to bring an item for our collection.
Also in April, we will be stuffing Blessing Bags at 10 am in the Gym, Sunday April 8 and 15. Come and help fill these bags to hand out to the homeless, filled with useful items like a water bottle, a granola bar, a pencil, paper, tissues and some band aids. Watch for the completed bags in the Church Hallway on a future Sunday so you can take one to keep in your car to hand out to someone you encounter on the street in future travels.
Celebrating our Wins in 2018!
January 2018
The Mission Focus of January was Home Sweet Home
Thanks to your generosity, 165 pillows were collected and delivered to Home Sweet Home.
A PJ’s Tavern and Plowshares Day was held on Janaury 22. Proceeds from that day and February’s “Souper- Bowl” Tortilla Soup sale the first weekend of the month, allowed Missions to purchase:
  • Flatware sets for Home Sweet Home
  • New soft blankets for KUMC’s Room at the Inn Ministry

February 2018
February’s Mission Focus was Epworth Children and Family Services. KUMC Missions collected 677 new underwear and socks at the Mission Window during the month to donate to Epworth’s Teen Ministry.
March 2018
March’s Mission was “I CAN”!  You were asked to bring canned food goods during the month of March to supply the pantries we support in St. Louis, and you responded!

Meals for Newborns

Join this team to help provide a home-cooked meal to support our church families with new babies.  Ministry members will make and deliver a few meals per year.  Email Debbie Dillon for more information.
