KUMC Missions

The Church has left the building
“Go and make disciples of all nations.”  – Matthew 28:19

We believe church isn’t over when you leave a worship service.
At KUMC, we CONNECT
with others both inside and outside of the church building as we
GROW in our faith and SERVE God and others with love though mission and ministry.

Please join us as we leave the building and serve together!

The Mission Focus of January was Home Sweet Home
Thanks to your generosity, 165 pillows were collected and delivered to Home Sweet Home.

A PJ’s Tavern and Plowshares Day was held on Janaury 22. Proceeds from that day and February’s “Souper- Bowl” Tortilla Soup sale the first weekend of the month, allowed Missions to purchase:
  • Flatware sets for Home Sweet Home
  • New soft blankets for KUMC’s Room at the Inn Ministry

February 2018
February’s Mission Focus was Epworth Children and Family Services. KUMC Missions collected 677 new underwear and socks at the Mission Window during the month to donate to Epworth’s Teen Ministry.

June 2018

In June KUMC members volunteered to prepare meals for Kirkwood’s local SPROG camp.  SPROG summer camp started back in the 1970’s to give local children that might not be able to afford to attend a summer camp or have all day care a fun and positive summer place to go.  SPROG provides meaningful summertime activies, recreational fun, leadership training and also helps these youth maintain their academic proficiency during the school break.  Learn more about this great program in Kirkwood and how you can help here: SPROG
