MARCH 2019: Build a Dresser, Furnish Hope
Dressers are a high demand item for Home Sweet Home clients. To honor of our 150th anniversary, KUMC has a goal to build 150 IKEA dressers for Home Sweet Home to commemorate 150 years of ministry in our community and the world. This is a big event to celebrate so there will be several future dresser build dates to acheive the final goal number.
The first dresser build will be the weekend of April 6 – 7 when we will build in memory of Chris Hendry, a former member of this church who possessed a big heart for helping those in need. The goal is to build 26 dressers for his 26 years of life. Here’s how to get involved:
#1 – Build
Sign up online HERE, or sign up at the Mission Window.
Come for an entire shift or just 15 minutes, whatever your schedule allows.
This IKEA dresser is EASY to put together. Two people can complete one in an hour. All skill levels are welcome to build. Do not be intimidated!
#2 – Donate
Contribute to the cost of the $40 dressers by writing a check with “Build a Dresser” in the memo line or donate on the website HERE.
Any and all donation amounts are gladly accepted.
