The Golgotha Experience — Wednesday, March 13, 7 p.m. You are invited to an evening of live contemporary music by the Kansas City-based band Poor Bishop Hooper, beautiful visuals, scripture and guided prayer. It’s “the most stunning musical experience reflecting on the passion story I’ve ever seen or heard,” reflects one viewer. This is a one-of-a-kind Lenten experience at KUMC that you won’t want to miss.
Prayer Vigil – Saturday, March 16 6:05 pm – Sunday, March 17, 9:00 am You are invited to take part in an all night prayer vigil following the recent Special General Conference Session decisions. Come next Saturday night at 5:05 pm to the Sanctuary for a special prayerful worship service to lead into the prayer vigil. Sign up now for an hour in the prayer vigil. There will be printed prayer guides and readings available to help guide your time. 
Trivia & Auction Night! — Saturday, March 30, 6:30 p.m. We have a few more tables left — make sure to get your friends together to create your TV Sitcom-themed table…or make new friends and sign up as individuals or couples! Register at the vintage TV in the lobby, or online here! Proceeds from KUMC’s biggest, most fun fundraiser will go towards service and mission in our community, and supporting ministries within the church! Special Guest Preacher: Rev. Dr. Kyle Butler – Sunday, March 17 Pastor Katie and her husband Kyle are swapping pulpits! Pastor Kyle serves as the Lead Pastor at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, and is a graduate from St. Paul School of Theology and the Graduate Theological Union.
Cultivating Resurrection Lenten Study Please remember to pick up your copy of our Lenten study. These lessons require nothing more than a thoughtful mind, a discerning heart and a Bible. All Sunday School classes, LifeGroups, and every individual in our church (that’s you!) are invited to take part in this study. Building Dressers…Furnishing Hope This mission event for Home Sweet Home is coming on Saturday, April 6 from 3:30 – 4:45 pm and Sunday, April 7 from 9:00 – 11:30 am. Sign up to build or donate to the cost of the $40 IKEA dressers by stopping by the Mission Window. KUMC set a goal to build 150 dressers to commemorate 150 years of building faith and families in Kirkwood. We are also building to honor the memory of Chris Hendry, who had a big heart for helping those in need. You can donate now to purchase a dresser, or to help us build: Sign up here.
Social Justice Lunch and Learn Event—Saturday, March 27, 12 noon “Racism, Up Close and Personal,” will be the topic of discussion at a Lunch and Learn meeting co-sponsored by Women’s Voices Raised for Social Justice and Kirkwood United Methodist Church on Wednesday, March 27. The event will be in The Wood, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Erica R. Williams, executive director of A Red Circle, a collaborative not-for-profit organization based in north St. Louis County will speak.
