Witnessing Whiteness Starts in January 2019 — Sign-ups end 11/15.
As United Methodists, we believe racism is a sin. To better understand racism within our culture, Kirkwood UMC and the YWCA, is hosting a small group study, Witnessing Whiteness, beginning on Sunday, January 13 and running through May 26. Student Ministry Toy Sale — Sunday, November 11
Students will be selling toys to help raise funds for Student Ministries and enable everyone at KUMC to buy a toy for Brown Bag Weekend December 1-2. Look for the Toy Sale table in the hallway during the remainder of November.

Please visit our bulletin board display and grab an ornament. A specific child’s name, age and wish is listed on the back. Please bring the wrapped gifts back to the Mission Window by Sunday, December 2 with the ornament attached to the gift. Thanks for helping make a child’s wish come true.
Saturday, November 17-Sunday, November 18 — KUMW Pie Sale Just in time for Thanksgiving, ALL church bakers are encouraged to bring pecan, pumpkin or fruit pies for the sale. Bring a pie and buy a pie (just $15)! PIE PREORDERS: This year, you may pre-order a pie. Just stop by the church office. Payment must accompany your order and pre-orders are due by November 11. Pie sale proceeds benefit local KUMW missions.
Hearing Assist Devices  Hearing assist devices are available in the Sanctuary located on the table just inside the Sanctuary doors.  Please ask an usher if you need assistance.
Social Justice Speaker, Ray Boshara — November 18, 6:30 pm  Ray Boshara will offer a presentation on the “Wealth Gap Between White and Black Families.”  He is the Senior Advisor and Director of the Center for Household Financial Stability at the Federal Reserve Bank.  Join us in The Wood for this educational talk sponsored by the Kirkwood Social Justice Coalition.   
Brown Bag Weekend Support Kingdom House — December 1 and 2 
Pick up a list of most needed items at the Mission Window,  and purchase a new gift and bring it wrapped in a simple brown bag to the altar during worship.  These gifts supply the Kingdom House Holiday Market for needy families in the St. Louis area.  
Chapel Repair and Maintenance Project  You may have noticed that work on our beloved Chapel has begun.  Trustees report that needed plaster work, electrical repairs, paint and new carpet will keep that space usable for years to come.  The majority of funding for this project comes from a generous memorial donation designated for Chapel Repair, allowing this much needed project to be completed without using any money from our regular budget.  
Extra Halloween Candy?  If you end up with leftover generic Halloween candy, please donate it for our upcoming Christmas Shepherd’s Run.  Just drop it in Carol’s office.  
Save the Date!  Our next Trivia Night is scheduled for Saturday, March 30 at the Kirkwood Community Center with a theme of “TV Sitcoms.”  Start getting your teams and your table theme together!  We’re also looking for small business owners who would like to be sponsors (various levels available), gift card donations and “experiential” auction items like tickets to sporting event & St. Louis activities. Please drop your donations by the front office or email with questions.  
Knitting Group  A new knitting group will begin meeting weekly on Wednesdays, from 6:00 to 8:30 pm in Room 109.  For information contact Elaine Conradi, 314-494-5439.  
Please join us for Table Worship on Saturday nights, 5:05 p.m.  At this casual and interactive worship, we gather at tables as Jesus did with his disciples and get to know each other face to face.  Come for snacks, music, reflection and communion.
