We’re Looking for Campers for Heartland Camp 
June 10-14 Rising 1st through 7th Grade students won’t want to miss this AMAZING camp experience!  Cost is $125 (through 5/19) for a week of camping experiences for kids.  Hours are 9 am—5 pm, with before and after care available.  Scan the QR code or sign up TODAY at We also need youth and adult volunteers to help with this camp.  Contact Jacob Nault at if you can step up and make this an “over-the-top” event this summer.  See the green insert in your bulletin for more information.  
Journey to the Movies…Somewhere Over the Rainbow – TODAY, 4 pm in the Gathering Place 
Journey Youth Choir presents songs from some of your favorite movies including The Wizard of Oz, The Greatest Showman, Shrek, Sister Act, Les Miserables, Mamma Mia, Back to the Future and many more. No tickets are needed but a free will offering will be collected and concessions will be available. All proceeds go toward Journey’s summer music mission trip.  Bring the whole family to this fun afternoon of music!  
Volunteer Opportunity  Are you cheerful and do you enjoy meeting people?  The Children’s Welcome Desk check-in team is in need of another helper to serve on 1st Sunday each month from 8:30 – 9:15 am.  If you can help, please email Jacob Nault at or let Carol Fischer know.  
Summer is coming!  Help the families of Kingdom House prepare for summer by providing beach towels, swimsuits, flip flops (Children, teen, and adult sizes).  Please bring donations to the Mission Window throughout the month of May.  
Bless Those in Need with a Blessing Bag  Do you ever encounter someone in need on the street?  Pick up a Blessing Bag in front of the Youth Ministry Office.  Each Blessing Bag includes simple, essential items for those in need: something to eat and drink, bandages, a pad of paper and pen, candy, facial tissues and more!  Be sure to pick up two or three to have in your vehicle this spring and summer.

Faith & For the Sake of All – Mobilizing the Faithful Housing Workshop – May 19, 5:30 pm  Faith & For the Sake of All, an organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of African Americans in St. Louis, hosts workshops to help communities and congregations learn about segregation and racism by processing the results of the Washington University Research study on Segregation in St. Louis: Dismantling the Divide.  Sponsored by the Kirkwood Social Justice Coalition.  
KUMC 150 Cake Decorating Contest!  Calling all artists! 
Did you see the big wooden cake at THE ONE in March?  We need you to submit a design to decorate it to commemorate this anniversary milestone for KUMC!  Find all information and registration on the church website or check out the display in the main hallway.  The winning design will be announced on June 30 and as soon as the artist has applied their design, the cake it will be featured prominently at future events.  
M.A.D. Camp 2019 is open for Registration now!  Join the fun at KUMC’s own Music, Art, and Drama (M.A.D.) Camp.  This summer, campers (rising 3-8th grade students) will learn and perform the musical, Back to the Creek Bank.  Students “kick off their shoes, put on their dirtiest overalls, grab a cane fishing pole and have more fun than ever before… Amid all the toe-tappin’ country music are some vital truths about God’s world and our attitude toward others.”  MAD Camp is Monday through Friday mornings, July 8-12 from 8:45 am to 12 noon, with performances on Friday, July 12 at 7:30 pm and Sunday, July 14 at 10:30 am.  Visit to register.  The early bird rate of $35 is in effect until June 17.  
Witnessing Whiteness at KUMC  KUMC will once again be hosting the YWCA’s program from August—December 2019.  Trained facilitators lead participants through ten 2-hour discussion sessions to help white people gain a deeper understanding of race and how white people can become anti-racists in today’s society.  Email Jess Horsley at for more information or if you’d like to sign up.
