November 5 to 8, 2009
Ben LaTurno, an 8th grader at Chaminade Prepatory School, is a part of the "Pit Chorus" in Chaminade Drama Department's presentation of "The Wiz" November 5 to 8, 2009, in Juergens Hall. Thursday to Saturday performances are at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday's show is at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are available at the door, ($10 adults/$5 students). Show your support for Ben and local theatre and check out a great show this weekend!

Brandon Foster, a Senior at Oakville High School, was recently named a commended student by the Nation Merit Scholarship Corp. for his scores on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Brandon's score earned him a spot in the top 5% of the 1.5 million students from across the country who took the qualifying exam last year (during their junior year). Congratulations Brandon!

Ben Laturno will be appearing in the St. Louis Shakespeare -- Boot Camp production of "Much Ado About Nothing" at The Gaslight Theater (358 N. Boyle) on Friday, August 7 and Saturday, August 8 from 7:00pm to 9:00 p.m. each night. Tickets at the door are $6.

Sam Wright, member of KUMC and student at Kirkwood High School, will be playing the lead male role in the upcoming musical Seven Brides for Seven Brothers at Kirkwood High School's production of the musical, which shows from April 24 to April 26 at Kirkwood High School.

Eric Bateman, son of Brian and Donna and member of the 2009 KUMC Confirmation Class, has advanced to the final round of the 23rd annual St. Louis Post-Dispatch Spelling Bee.
Eric, who goes to school at Holman Middle School, was one of 300 students to take the written test and one of only 33 students who spelled 23 or more of the 25 words correctly. The oral finals will be held this Saturday, March 14 at 10:00 AM at the Maryville University Auditorium. The winner of the oral finals will represent St. Louis at the National Spelling Bee May 24 - 30 in Washington D.C.
