Beginning Wed, Jan 25 (through Wed, March 14 - 8 weeks) - 7:00 to 8:00pm -- Youth Disciple in the Making: NOOMA
Beginning Wednesday, January 25 and meeting every Wednesday night for 8 weeks (through Wednesday, March 14), teens 6th to 12th grade are invited to join Pastor Sue Mitch, Jess Horsley and other adult mentors in a small group which will watch and discuss the creative, thought-provoking NOOMA videos by Rob Bell. A brilliant speaker whose words will make you reconsider your relationship with Christ, your involvement in the world, and your own ideas, Rob Bell and his NOOMA videos are sure to get you talking about everything from why people are scared of silence and love being misunderstood to the beauty of every day and how we breath.
Those interested are encouraged to sign up and meet in the youth lounge every Wednesday evening from 7pm to 8pm beginning Wednesday, January 25. Snacks and drinks will be provided, there's no cost to participate!
Sun, Jan 29 - 6:30 to 8:00pm -- 5th Sunday Movie Night - Muppets from Space
Enjoy family, fellowship, food, and fun as we enjoy a family movie (G or PG-rated) on the big screen in Epworth.

Sun, Feb 5 - 5:00 to 9:00pm (end time estimate) -- Super Cool Game Party
Invite your friends, family, and all as we enjoy Super Bowl XLVI in the youth lounge!
Food, fun and fellowship will be enjoyed by all as we eat sloppy joes and little smokies as well as whatever snacks are brought!
What to Bring:

Sun, Feb 12 - 1:00 to 2:00pm -- 2012 KUMC Confirmation Worship Service
Join Confirmands, family, and friends for a special worship service in which Confirmands will claim the name Disciple and join the Kirkwood United Methodist Church!
Sun, Feb 19 - 12:00noon to 2:00pm -- Children & Youth with Special Needs Workshop (for Youth Workers, Parents & All)
Sunday school teachers, youth leaders, mentors, Shepards, and adults and youth who would like to make a difference in the lives of children and youth with special needs are invited to take part in this training workshop. A light lunch will be served and a Behavior Specialist will be on-hand to educate and answer questions. Wed, Feb 22 - 5:30 to 6:30pm -- Ash Wednesday Worship
Join youth and adults for a special Ash Wednesday service led by the youth! Then join in fellowship in food from 6:30 to 7:00pm for a meal before Disciple in the Making journey sessions from 7:00 - 8:00pm!
Sat, Feb 25 - 9:00am to 11:30am -- Strategic Planning Meeting
Sat, Feb 25 & Sun, Feb 26 -- Youth Worship Weekend
Join youth in this special weekend filled with youth-led music and ministry.
Youth will lead ALL SERVICES!
Sun, Feb 28 - 6:30pm to 8:30pm -- Emergency Preparedness Training
Attention all volunteers and others interested in learning about how to handle emergencies which might arise at KUMC! Would you know what to do if an intruder came into the church? Do you know where the AE Defibrillator and first aid kit are located in KUMC? How would you handle the situation if someone in service was having a heart attack? Learn about responding quickly and efficiently in these scenarios and more by attending this training workshop led by Sergeant Scott Barthlemass. Fri, March 9 to Sun, March 11 -- Mission Trip Fundraiser: Kirkwood Theater Guild Concessions
Youth going on the 2012 KUMC Youth Mission Trip & Choir Tour will sell concessions at multiple performances of Nana's Naughty Knickers at the Kirkwood Theater Guild from Fri, March 9 to Sunday, March 11 (6:30pm Fri & Sat evenings; 12:30pm on Sunday).

Sun, March 25 - Spring Return Mission Opportunity (regular time youth group)
Fri, March 30 (6:00pm) to Sat, March 31 (3:00pm) -- Hungry & Homeless in Kirkwood Experience (HIKE)
Join youth from the community for this poverty simulation in which we'll learn and better understand through experience what it means to be hungry and homeless. Weather-permitting, we'll sleep outside. Likewise, youth are encouraged to go 24 hours without food as well!

Sat, April 7 - 9:00am to 11:00am -- KUMC Easter Egg Hunt
Lead by KUMC youth ministries and open to all children, the 2012 KUMC Easter Egg Hunt will take place in the KUMC Multipurpose room, where youth will lead music, games, and crafts as well as face painting, photos with the Easter Bunny and - everyone's favorite - Easter Egg Hunt!
Sun, April 29 - 6:30pm to 8:30pm -- 5th Sunday Movie Night

Wed, May 30 to Sun, June 3 -- 2012 KUMC Youth Mission Trip & Choir Tour to Memphis, TN
Join KUMC's Journey Youth Choir and KUMC Youth non-choir members as we travel to Memphis, where we'll sing, share, and show our love of Christ through music and muscles! Non-Journey Youth will help on mission projects daily while Journey Youth Choir members will share their gifts of song with others at numerous concerts. Watch for more information soon!
Fri, June 8 & Sat, June 9 -- MO Methodist Annual Conference Youth Choir & Worship Band
Join other youth from across the state as they gather at this year's Annual Conference and share with all their gift of music! There will be street dances, worship, activities, games, and fun for all! Watch for more information soon!
